HOME

A
message from the Chairman.
On
behalf of the Roch Valley District Association (RVDA) of the Camping and
Caravanning Club (CCC) may I welcome you to our website. The website has been
developed to help you gain an insight to the RVDA and its activities.
We are a family friendly group with a newly formed and vibrant Youth section.
Our regular weekend meets take place over a widespread area of the North West of
England attempting to cater for all our members near and far. Our Weekends cover
a variety of activities including family walks, visits to local places of
interest, sports, fun & games on the field and, of course, sociable and often
entertaining gatherings in the evenings.
DA meets, like ours, are an affordable form of camping. We regularly camp in
defined farm rally fields, rally sites attached to official campsites or we are
maybe sited adjacent to a village hall for our evening ‘get togethers’,
especially in the winter months.
Our ‘Roast Night’ meet, held annually in early June, has just taken place and you
will see from the photo gallery what a great entertaining weekend the RVDA
organised for its fellow CCC members. Like every weekend we camp, we aim to
create an enjoyable and friendly atmosphere and I can assure you of a warm
welcome to you all on the field at all of our meets.
If you are a member of the Camping and Caravanning Club and would like to camp
with us, whether in a Tent, a Trailer-Tent, Motor-Home or Caravan please see our
list of meets for the 2008 season and feel free to join us.
May I wish
you all an enjoyable time when camping with us.

Up-coming Meets
December 5th - 7th
Christmas Meet
Whittingham &
Goosnargh S&SC. PR3 2JH
(click for directions)
Christmas time is approaching and
this year we are having a FAMILY
CHRISTMAS PARTY MEET at Whittingham & Goosnargh
Sports & Social Club over the weekend of 5th- 7th
December. This year we want all the family to be
involved and hence there's something happening for
everyone on Saturday.
Up to now Joan has already had an
excellent response from many of you as regards
registering your attendance at the Family Xmas Party.
The number of attendees is
now reaching levels were we must be aware of Health &
Safety regulations with regards to the safe number
people within the Function Room of the Social club.
If you have not
already registered
your intentions to attend, whether as a visitor or
camping, it
is
imperative that you do so ASAP.
The meet itself is not listed as a Pre-booked meet but
we must take into account safety regulation of
the Social club.
We want to accommodate everyone
wishing to attend our Family Xmas Party and don't want
to disappoint anyone, so please assist in our
planning and contact Joan
(mteale@rvda.info)
at the earliest opportunity.
Note: the Social club will
dictate the limit on attendees, please don't make it
difficult for us and register now rather than turning up
on the day and being disappointed if turned away.
Please help yourselves by
helping us in the above request.
The organisation of this party is
being ably lead by Joan and Caroline, but in order for
it all to run smoothly and to reduce the work load from a
few to many, we need your support, particularly for food
preparation. Please contact Joan
(mteale@rvda.info) and let
her know where YOU CAN HELP. Please
contact
Joan for job vacancies!! :- Many hands make light work!!
The XMAS
RAFFLE is being run this year by Annette supported by a team of
youth. It has been decided that all proceeds of the raffle will be
donated to the ST CATHERINE'S HOSPICE (see
www.stcatherines.co.uk for
more information about this very worthy cause). Our main raffle
prize will be a Christmas Hamper, for which we need donations. Our
youth will be coming around to collect any donations. So have a
think about what you might like to win in a hamper before donating
and hopefully Annette can then build up a super 1st prize and more.
Additionally if you have other worthwhile prizes you would like to
donate to help the sale of tickets, please bring them along and pass
them on to Annette, they will be much appreciated. Most importantly
buy plenty of tickets - its for a very good cause!
If
you are coming to the XMAS meet it would be nice if you could
CONFIRM NUMBERS of adults & children by contacting Joan (see link
above) This would help in planning.
I look forward to
seeing toddlers, grandchildren, juniors, youths and all you adults
on the 5th of December and lets make it a memorable Christmas party.

Meet
the youth
We've re-established the RVDA Youth
section at last.
Although it's still in the early stages,
the hope is to develop the section into a major part of the group.
In the short time they've been together, we've already had a few activities
which everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy.
At the recent Glasson Dock meet, a
gentleman from a visiting DA commented that it was wonderful to see the kids
having such a good time and the sound of laughing
and squealing was a reminder of times gone by.
The new leaders, Peter and Jayne Fryer and
Mark and Sarah Sharples, are committed to the cause and the kids have been coming
up with all sorts of ideas for fun and adventure. Lets hope the leaders can
stand the pace.
The children have been raising their own
funds and already have a substantial pot.
Many thanks to members who have
contributed in so many different ways.
Let's not forget, the children are the
future and we need them to continue the traditions of the club.

If you have any stories you would like to share with fellow members, you can
E-mail them to
